Milkalyser installed on robots at new dairy centre
Milkalyser has been making huge progress over the past few months. Our technical team have been busy regularly installing Milkalyser at several different farms. Not only has this given us the chance to refine our system, but it has also allowed us to understand the complexities of retrofitting to existing systems.
One particularly exciting installation is at the new South West Dairy Development centre. The recently opened facility is a joint venture between Agri-EPI centre and Kingshay. Described as a ‘dairy farm of the future’, it is the perfect place to showcase Milkalyser.
The farm has a 180-cow herd, with the milking performed by GEA monobox robots. Our skilled team have successfully retrofitted Milkalyser to each of the three robots. This has allowed us to regularly test our system on robots and validate its efficiency.
The South West Dairy Development centre is designed to provide state-of-the-art facilities for testing the latest agri-tech innovations. Also part of the centre’s ethos is the development of effective management systems to improve dairy cow management. At Milkalyser we believe in developing smart technologies to improve fertility management and beyond.
Milkalyser, automatically selects cows for testing and measures milk progesterone directly from the milk line in a matter of minutes. Milkalyser reads and interprets the result into an action regarding fertility, such as an insemination alert. Where available, Milkalyser data can be integrated with other farm data to provide a cohesive, informed management strategy.
