Office Assistant

Milkalyser is an innovative technology-led company based at Exeter Science Park. We are focused on developing new systems to revolutionise dairy cow management and to improve cow welfare. Our team develop and manufacture the latest generation technology for the global dairy industry.

We are seeking a part-time Office Assistant. The role is based at our office and workshop in Exeter Science Park, and is suitable for someone with experience of using networked computers and modern office software.

Duties

  • Assisting the Office Manager
  • Answer the phone and deal with enquiries
  • Maintaining a digital filing system for document retrieval
  • Managing document templates
  • Maintaining customer mailing lists
  • Wrapping and shipping parcels
  • Recording and filing mail incoming and outgoing
  • Setting up appointments and booking rooms for team members
  • Any other suitable duties

Role Requirements

Essential
  • Ability to write clear concise English messages and emails
  • Ability to transfer and enter data into spreadsheets
  • Personal initiative to cope with a constantly changing and growing company
Useful
  • Foreign language skills
  • A driving license (not essential)

Hours of work: Normal hours of work (to be discussed at interview stage) 50% of  37 hours per week (9-5 with flexi-time). Possibility to moving to moving to full time as the company grows.

Salary: Competitive salary to be discussed starting at £18000 full time equivalent (£9000 for 50%). A permanent contract is subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period.
